Blowing Snow
Jan 8th
One of the things about living in Ohio is dealing with snow. We finally got a decent snow fall yesterday so that meant the driveway needed cleared off. Several years ago one of my neighbors gave me an old snow blower…it didn’t work. Thanks to my dad who took it home and rebuild the engine, [...]
Squeezeboxing

Let me start off by saying that I enjoy listening to music, I just don’t enjoy picking it out. I mean if I hear something I like great, but just don’t expect me to know loads about music/artist/etc. I’ve been told that I’m tone deaf and also can’t carry a tune so don’t expect me [...]
When traveling isn’t fun
Nov 8th
So I arrived in London today. The problem with flying to Europe from the US is that you generally arrive in Europe in the morning. I landed at Heathrow at 7AM and was at my hotel by 9AM. Of course the hotel doesn’t have any rooms ready so now I have to kill 3-4 hours [...]
Vodka Classifications, IT Style
Sep 24th
I just realized that it’s been 3 months since I’ve blogged anything on here. I guess I’ve just been a little busy. Anyway, one of my co-workers sent me this today and I thought it was pretty funny. Also, I’m known to drink a bit of Vodka when I visit Russia. Thanks Gostev for sending [...]
Palm Pre Week 1
Jun 13th
After a full week of using my Palm Pre I thought I’d right another post to let you all know about my experiences. Overall I’m still very happy with my purchase decision. Switching from Windows Mobile to WebOS has been pretty easy, mostly because WebOS is so easy to use. I also have to understand that I’m an early adopter so while there are some things I’m not completely thrilled with right now, I have hope that they can be fixed with updates.
Palm Pre – Day 1
Jun 6th
Since people saw me tweeting this morning that I was in line at 5:30AM to get a Palm Pre from Sprint they’ve been asking me how I like it. This post is just my first impressions, I’ve only had it about 12 hours so far so a more indepth review will be coming later (or [...]
Dinner Serenade
May 16th
While dining at a great traditional Russian restaurant called Sadko last night, we were all surprised when a group of the wait staff started singing. Their voices were spectacular, especially the girl in the middle. Sadko is right next to the Mariinsky Theater, known for it’s Opera and ballet (I’ve been to the ballet there [...]
Staying Connected when Traveling Abroad
May 11th
A lot of people ask me for tips/tricks if they’ve never been overseas. Since I’ve crossed the pond many times, I thought I would detail out some of the ways I stay connected. It doesn’t have to be this complicated, but hey, I’m a geek so I don’t mind…
Phone/Mobile Email/Twitter
Since I’m on the Sprint network [...]
WITWI VMDoug – New Jersey and Orlando for VMware Partner Exchange
Apr 17th
This week my travel involved a very last minute trip to New Jersey for an important business meeting and then down to Orlando, FL for VMware Partner Exchange 2009. Partner Exchange was a great conference, Veeam was able to talk to a lot of partners and I was able to meet a lot of people [...]
